Although there are many great options in Florida, the Tampa—St. Pete area is truly unique. Connected by bridges that traverse the entire Tampa Bay, these twin cities offer bustling city centers, amazing beaches and a growing economy.

One of my favorite aspects of living on the Tampa Bay is the beautiful Gulf of America. You can easily access the gulf waters by walking through city parks, visiting beaches or having a cocktail on a rooftop bar. St. Pete Beach offers some of the best beaches in the world, home to an annual beach volleyball tournament and other events throughout the year.

One thing brings people to Tampa Bay from all around the world—the sun. After living in Seattle for several years, this is one of the most appealing aspects of this region. If you’re a fan of sunny weather and humid conditions, then the Bay is perfect for you! In moving to St. Pete, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of weather throughout the year. In addition to sunny, hot weather, you can also experience numerous thunderstorms, foggy mornings and a dash of cold weather in this area.

Along with the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg, visitors can also venture 10 miles south to Sarasota. This city offers gleaming beaches and million-dollar homes dotting the landscape. Sarasota is known for its tennis culture, retirement communities and luxury retail and restaurants.
